Art has always been part of my life since I was little. I started taking art classes when I was 13 years old starting up from the basics. As time went on I met some other artists and one in particular was interested in Photoshop. She and I started to figure the program out, teaching each other back and forth. Eventually she graduated high school and went to the Art Institute. While she was studying there she came back and thought me things she was learning. Eventually my high school started a Graphic Design class which taught the basics of Photoshop to alter photos. After high school I was only doing my own hand drawn art and altering it on the computer until I finally got into the Graphic Design Program at Portland State University.

My art style is very colorful and fun. I love anime-type characters and creating my own characters to interact with others. I started with a pen and pencil then went to inking with a pen and onto the computer to color. Now i do the pencil and paper and everything else is done in Photoshop. I use a tablet for most of my computer work. Even though I use a tablet it still doesn’t have the same feeling as a pencil to paper. I believe that there is a special intimacy working with pencil and paper. Its like being physically involved with your work and I believe that to be true. I don’t feel like an artist if my hands aren’t dirty and I don’t have something on paper.
